Lifestyle Medicine is an evidence-based medical approach that uses everyday lifestyle habits to prevent, treat, and often reverse chronic health conditions. Lifestyle Medicine works alongside conventional medical care, not instead of it. It empowers people with practical, sustainable changes that improve wellbeing, support recovery, and reduce the burden of chronic disease. These programmes work in conjunction with medical treatments, not instead.

Dr Helen Monk
I’m a retired medical practitioner with a longstanding interest in Lifestyle Medicine(LM). After a significant head injury brought my clinical career to an end, I began applying LM principles to my own recovery. What had once been professional curiosity became a daily, practical approach to rebuilding my health. Through this process, I experienced both the challenges and the real benefits of LM first-hand. Now, in this new chapter of my life, I’m committed to educating and supporting others. My aim is to share what I’ve learned so more people can use LM to improve their recovery and wellbeing — one small, sustainable step at a time.
About the course
The Brain Injury Recovery Programme is designed to help you rebuild your health using the proven principles of Lifestyle Medicine. Whether your injury was recent or many years ago, this course gives you practical, science-based tools to support your recovery and improve your day-to-day wellbeing. You’ll learn how the seven pillars of Lifestyle Medicine- nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, connection, environment, and reducing harmful behaviours, all work together to support brain healing. Each module includes clear explanations, short videos, practical steps, and supportive guidance you can apply immediately. You’ll also have access to a welcoming online community, live webinars, and optional mentoring to help you stay motivated and supported throughout your journey. This programme is here to help you take confident, sustainable steps toward better health — one pillar at a time.
